Accidental gun deaths is a simple catalog of unintentional deaths by firearm in the US, as reported in the US media. These are collected via Google Alert on the terms “accidental shooting death” or “accidental gun death” and lightly curated to remove reports of non-current events, non-deaths, and obvious non-accidents. I added “killed by a stray bullet” on June 19, 2014.
It’s my intent to avoid editorial comment beyond the tagline on the header of the blog, that “no good guy with a gun could have prevented this.” Take from these deaths what you will. They’re terribly sad losses of life, presumably unintended for those who died and for those who pulled the trigger and for those who purchased the guns and for those who owned the guns.
Images shown are intended to be those of the deceased. Post titles are those used by the linked news sources.
This blog begun on Jun 12, 2014, using accidental gun deaths reported happening since June 5, 2014. Hoping for peace and healing for survivors.
